The Lead Mechanical Engineer (LME) is responsible for the organisation, planning, execution and timely delivery of the projects assigned to him or her. He or she leads a multidisciplinary team whose size and composition depend on the project. A project may include developing a new machine or improving and/or standardising existing machines. In addition, the LME makes an important contribution to setting the functional and quality requirements for new designs and future lifts, drawing on your extensive knowledge of the various production methods.

The projects you will be working on involve using methodical design and DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) to arrive at an effective design. You also perform the required strength calculations (including FEM) and risk analyses for the Machinery Directive and CE markings.

This role requires a Dutch HBO+ vocational qualification, or equivalent, or a university-level education. This should be in a technical field such as mechanical engineering. You are also skilled in project management in a technical environment and you have knowledge of financial and general management. Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical engineering would be a definite advantage.

Experience with the software packages used at Holland Lift is a plus. These include Microsoft Office, Autodesk Inventor (3D), Ansys, Scia. A good command of written and spoken Dutch, German and English, including industry jargon is required. Other languages are an advantage.
